The village is looking for a Public Works Maintenance Worker. This a full time position.

General Duties: Under general supervision, the position of Maintenance Worker operates and maintains the Village’s streets, water system, buildings, garages, public property and other duties directly or indirectly related to providing service to the community. This position will work indoors and outdoors throughout the year in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate for this full-time, non-exempt position will be one who can work as part of a team; have a strong work ethic; and is willing to learn and perform a variety of maintenance and construction related activities.

Position Qualifications: Experience in construction and building related fields and disciplines is preferred. Illinois Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class (A) or (B) with air brake endorsement (minimum), or the ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment. Ability and willingness to respond to emergency situations 24/7; 365 days per year. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Experience operating heavy equipment – such as backhoes, snowplows, and skid loaders is highly desired. Knowledge of carpentry, basic electrical, plumbing, concrete, minor building maintenance, and landscaping are welcomed.

Starting Salary and Benefits: Salary range is commensurate with experience. Benefits include participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, and voluntary participation in a deferred compensation program (457 plan).

Hours Per Week: 40+ hours per week. This position will participate in after-hours call backs and will be available nights and weekends as needed.

Post Offer Requirements: Completion of a pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen and a background check are required.

Pre-proposal meeting: January 20, 2020 at 9:00 am at Village Hall

Submission deadline: January 31, 2020 at 10:00 am

The Village is looking for a company to provide the following services:

Disconnection and removal of existing HVAC equipment including furnaces and air conditioners and line sets and supplying equipment, labor and materials and installation of replacement furnaces and air conditioners, line sets, controls, humidifiers and air cleaners. The project shall consist of total removal of two furnaces and air conditioners and associated equipment. The quotes shall be listed as “HVAC Project”. The Village does reserve the right to accept or reject any or all proposals. Interested parties can contact the Community Development Director at the Village to view the site and scope of work and or to ask any questions. Proposals are due to the Village of Beach Park by 10:00 am January 31, 2020.

The furnace and air conditioner manufacturer shall be Carrier and shall meet the following models or shall be an equivalent right sized Carrier unit for this application. Carrier Performance Series or Pro Series TWO (2) stage-variable high efficiency gas furnace 59TP6A100E21 20 G/F, 4-way, 96 AFUE 2S/PWM and 24ACC630A003 16 SEER Puron Performance AC with matching indoor evaporator coil with thermal expansion valve with new line sets from the evaporator coil to the condenser on the exterior of the building.

There shall be a new Carrier LBP humidifier (or April Aire equivalent) HUMCCLBP2417 CAC Hum LRG bypass 17 GPD provided and installed on each unit. Provide a new White-Rogers digital setback programmable thermostat (Model IF80) for each unit. Provide and install filter cabinets, FILCABXL0020 20 in -XL for each unit. Provide and install, as needed or required, CNPVP3017ALA Cased vert N-Alum and EZCAPUNV0020 end Cap for each unit. There shall be a manufacturers part warranty of 10 years for parts and a lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger for the furnace and a manufacturers part warranty of 10 years and a compressor warranty of 10 years for the air conditioning system. There shall be a 5-year parts warranty for the White-Rogers thermostats. The whole project completion shall be no later than March 10, 2020 at 3:30 pm.

Companies interested in submitting a proposal are encouraged to attend a pre-proposal meeting at the Village Hall at 9:00 am on January 20, 2020 or schedule an appointment with the Community Development Director.

1. Remove all lights, ornaments, garland, tinsel and stands from the tree.
2. Make sure the tree is not wrapped in any plastic or placed inside a plastic bag.
3. Leave trees at the curb on any Friday in January and it will be picked up for free.
