April 30, 2008 -- Beach Park Fire Department Child Safety Camp
The Beach Park Fire Department will be hosting its first annual Child Safety Camp. The camp will be run from 8am to 12pm daily, June 9th thru June 13th, 2008 and a scond session with the same material is set for June 23rd thru June 27th, 2008. Children from the ages of 6-10 our encouraged to attend the camp. The cost is a nominal fee of $50.00 a week, which includes transporation to and from the field trip destinations and a snack. Important safety topics such as bicycle safety, internet awareness, fire safety, train safety and water safety will be presented. The Beach Park Fire Department has partnered with the Lake County Sheriff's Department, American Red Cross, United States Coast Guard and Metra Train in attempt to present a well rounded safety experience for the children. This program is the first of its kind for the Beach Park Community. Our goal as Firefighters, Paramedics and Parents is to ensure the safety of our children in our community.
